Zero’s Quest: A Comic By Eduverse

“Zero’s Quest” is a short demo comic designed to showcase how EduVerse captivates young readers through playful, educational storytelling. Written and illustrated by me, it’s available in both print and digital formats; each offering its own unique interactive experience tailored to early learners.

Two videos are included below, each highlighting the unique interactive features of the print and digital formats.

Physical vs Digital

Creating both physical and digital versions of the comic allowed for exploration of how different formats influence interaction, engagement, and learning experience. The physical comic emphasizes tactile interaction through its “flip-the-flap” design, encouraging hands-on play and curiosity. Young readers physically lift the flaps to make choices, reinforcing fine motor skills and providing a tangible sense of discovery. This form of interaction mirrors traditional picture books, making it intuitive and comfortable for kindergarten-aged children.

In contrast, the digital version focuses on visual interactivity. Clickable buttons, and animated transitions engage multiple senses, creating a more immersive and dynamic experience. The digital format can also be easily shared, replayed, or projected in classrooms, allowing group participation and repeated exploration without wearing and tearing one shared book.

Both formats share the same storyline and learning objectives, yet each offers a unique way of experiencing the narrative. The physical comic fosters connection through touch and movement, while the digital version promotes independent exploration through responsive feedback. Together, they demonstrate how storytelling can adapt across mediums to support diverse learning styles and maintain engagement through both play and choice.

Merchandise & Social media

When planning the merchandise, I considered what items would be useful and appealing to children aged 4-6. From this, I decided on the following:
– T-shirts
– Bucket hats/Caps
– Socks
– Bookmarks (for them to keep track while reading Zero’s Quest!)

While kindergarten children don’t use social media; their parents/guardians/educators definitely do.
Therefore, a social media presence still makes sense.
