A social establishment where literary minds meet dinner parties. Reading enthusiasts are invited to sip and share their hot takes in steamy discursive discussions at the ‘Supper Club’.

Au Literati extends an invitation to you dearest gentle reader, to experience a spellbinding dinner party where we listen and definitely critique the genre of the month. Do you love themed parties inspired by character archetypes? Creative and decadent cocktails that immerse you in another world? Or perhaps you would like to wine and dine by candlelight in a romantically or platonically intimate and chic manner? Au Literati aims to provide an interactive ‘third space’ and dining experience where creatives and artists can engage in various topics of interests. Whether it’s writing your musings on the parchment paper besides the charcutier spreads, engaging in witty banter and humours facts in a game of trivia, or finding a nook to unwind and enjoy the night out with the occasional night cap and open mic entertainment. If any of these activities are speaking to your desire for revelry and serendipitous encounters, seek and you shall find… that the portal to your fantasises begins at the doorstep of the Au Literati Cocktail Bar & Restaurant.
What began as a passion project is now an exploration into the Third Space and how to disrupt the digital spheres by returning to authentic human interactions.
The reasoning behind the design of the menu and hand drawn illustrations was intended to reflect Au Literati’s bold, romantic and chic brand identity inspired by staple gothic literature iconographies such as – The Chalice, Candelabra, Decorative Dagger, Hand Mirror and Antique Key. I used repeated motifs of ornate and organic shapes that resembles the femininity of ‘Corinth Columns’ to pay homage to the Greek philosophy school of thought and to my earlier conceptualisation of Au Literati.
The colour palette is heavily indulgent in the aesthetics of limited-edition release of Classic literature novels. In particular I was inspired by the Hemmingway Books – Deluxe Hunger Games Collection. I chose deep rich tones to illicit the refinery and elegance of woman sipping wine by a warm fire while engrossed in her literary fantasises.
