“Stride for tide” is charity marathon that is designed to raise awareness and funds for a marine life conservation. It is designed around the beauty of the ocean with a slogan of “Run for the Ocean, Stride of the Tide” that bring a naturally playful vibe while still carrying out the main message.
Inspired by the ocean’s tones, the main colour palette and illustrations follow the blue and beige vibes with a splash of colour to add some life into the illustrations along with hand-lettered typography that creates an inviting, family friendly aesthetic. The thought process behind the design was to keep the visuals light and easy on the eyes yet still allows you to bond with the characters, while using eco-friendly items, like metal cans that are recyclable over plastic bottles, recyclable bags as well as other items.
The project aims to design a campaign for “Stride for Tide”, a charity marathon made to raise awareness and funds for a marine life conservation. The campaign seeks to highlight the urgent need to protect our oceans with the increasing threats of plastic politician, habitat destruction and climate change. With its strong, Eco-friendly branding and storytelling, “Stride for Tide” to motivate a community effort in taking a step into helping the environment and spreading awareness. How this marathon raises its funds will be through its entry fees, a portion of the ticket sales will directly go to supporting marine charities.
